It's been ages since I've had to tweak with the hackintosh, its worked great since 2011 and this is my first snag. The PCE AC56 802.11ac Adapter is a network device manufactured by ASUS.

if I remember correctly I just download the correct file, unzip it, drag and drop into System/Library/Extensions and then reboot, is that right?

I have googled every combination of "" "bcm4352.kext" "bcm4352.kext download" that I can think of and am not turning up any download links. I saw slow Windows Updates checks/ download with RAM usage climbing to over 3GB Fixed and then RAM usage during Windows Update checks was a more reasonable 2.5GB RAM usage with just background programs running was around 2. Trying a few other servers I get varied results (always around 40Mb/s down but the upload is anywhere from 0.1Mb/s to 6Mb/s). I only found one forum post even recommending which kext I need and it said should be.bcm4352.kext The initial results were pretty optimistic looking (40Mb/s down and 10Mb/s up) until I went to try GTA V with a friend who I had previously been having desync problems with before (still happening). since the kext is no longer needed for most people I'm finding it impossible to find a download link. I just installed an Asus PCE-AC56 in my hackintosh with Snow Leopard and it is not working out of the box.Īpparently it works out of box on some of the newer OS but not on Snow Leopard, so. If anyone knows what the *cap settings are all about it would be interesting to know.Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide Please feel free to use these settings and report back on how they have worked for you. No dropouts, connection issues or otherwise. Since making these changes the wifi connection has been rock stable. Uncheck: 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'

Tweaks: In order to get stability in the system - despite the utility giving me full signal at both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz I had to make the following changes: It gives real time connection speed with the router and search facility to see which networks in your area are using which channels. I also installed the asus utility found in the same place but this is not essential. interference from neighbours and home devices. *channels are always dependent on what is going on at a local level, e.g. I have setup the 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz wireless channels with different SSIDs.ĥ.0 Ghz channel: 44 (auto 20/40/80) (auto up or down extension)

The dongle is connected directly to a USB 3.0 port (with latest mboard USB 3 drivers installed) The computer is upstairs a fair distance away from the router with a direct line of sight passing through at least 2 interior walls and one brick wall. The router is connected to the master socket via an ADSL faceplate filter in the lounge. So I started looking for some tweaks and found some excellent ones that have made it very stable indeed, I thought they might be useful to someone on here. I have been using this dongle for the last few months in Win 10 and find that it loves to disconnect/reconnect, randomly drop out, switch from 5 Ghz to 2.4 Ghz etc.
